Buffer Regions Involved to Overcome Flood in Jakarta

Besides improving city infrastructures, Jakarta Provincial Government also does the same thing in the buffer regions through financial assistance.

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T. Purnama disclosed that financial assistance that provided for handling floods in buffer regions has been ongoing.

"We've been cooperating with them (buffer regions). Among them are Ciawi, we want to buy the land and make a reservoir on the hill in Bekasi," he stated, at City Hall, Thursday (2/23).

Flood Handling Becomes Priority in Cipinang Melayu

To optimize it, his party also cooperates with Ministry of Public Works and Housing.

"With ministry and buffer regions, we always work together," he expressed.

He assessed flood could be resolved by one side, as long as there is coordination and support from various elements, including residents.
